Metabolomics is a powerful tool used for clinical research, diagnostics, and personalized medicine among many other fields. Fluidome reduces the complexity of metabolomics research with our custom-designed kits including consumables and software and we want to develop a user-friendly interface and simple data visualization templates for our existing software.

In this multi-phased project, students will improve the usability of our software by developing templates or modules that users can select from to visualize data and add a graphical user interface.

This will involve:

· Developing a series of data visualization modules for the software.

· Developing a straightforward GUI to allow users to interact with these visualization modules.

· Developing a reporting system for users to download the results of the analysis and visualizations.

· Testing the software and documenting any updated code and issues that arise.

· Working with non-expert users to find issues and difficulties with the GUI.

By the end of the project, students should submit a report and/or files, along with any source materials such as code, workbooks, etc. that demonstrate:

· Functional data visualization modules that can be accessed directly from the GUI

· A simple and clean GUI for the software that has been tested by non-expert users.

· Examples of analysis reports generated by the software

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will hold weekly meetings to discuss any issues that arise and ensure that the deliverables can be met within the timeframe. We will be able to provide:

· Input for the needs of users

· Input for design of the GUI

· Access to multiple relevant datasets

· Access to non-expert users for testing
