Our mission

Our company was created over a year ago with a specific goal to create products and services that make it easier for children of South Asian descent to learn their native languages. So far, our focus has been on a single language - Urdu.

The Project

We are developing new products and services to help kids learn a new language online. We are conducting research on the types of activities that are used by others for language instruction (whether it is through a mobile app or through online classes). Your role will be to support this research by creating a list of ideas and helping draft some basic resources.

  • Research ideas used by language instruction mobile apps designed for kids (e.g. Lingo kids, duolingo kids, etc). We will share some app ideas with you - your role will be to identify the types of activities and games used in these apps and create a list.
  • Research ideas for virtual classroom activities used by other companies and online schools - how do they keep kids engaged (what kind of in-class activities, games, etc are used)
  • Research worksheet ideas for language instruction for ages 5-8 - find ideas used by others to teach basic words and sentences in other languages
  • Create worksheets - we will provide you with the class topics (e.g. animals, fruits, daily activities, etc) - and you will have to create draft worksheets that we can share with children to practice

We will provide you with details on each lesson and the content to cover.

You do NOT need knowledge of South Asian languages to participate.

Education

South Asians living abroad are struggling to transfer their native languages to their children. Our children are exposed mostly to English and resources available in native languages are too complex for children in the West. Plus, the parents themselves often struggle with reading the language even if they are able to speak it to varying degrees.

Our vision is to help preserve the use of South Asian languages. We aspire to become a leading bilingual edutainment brand for children of South Asian descent through a mix of high-quality physical and digital resources, with a focus on transliteration, e.g. Urdu written using the English alphabet.

We launched our first versions of Urdu-English books in September ’20 and now offer 12 books across 4 reading levels. We are expanding our product lines in January, have transformational improvements planned for next year, and a much more exciting vision ahead of us to offer multiple languages.
