The Human Resources Certificate is an 8-month program designed to prepare students for a wide range of responsibilities directly related to the function of Human Resources. In addition to the employment cycle and business training, students receive specific training in human resource management, recruitment, selection, compensation and benefits, learning and development, change management, occupational health and safety, labour relations and employment law. There is a strong emphasis on professionalism and communication skills. Students are available for a 4-week, full-time unpaid field placement at the conclusion of their program.

The students from the Bow Valley College Administrative Professional Certificate program will work with your team to perform a variety of assigned administrative tasks.• Students are available 3x/year – January, May or September and must meet strict prerequisites to be eligible for placement• Field placements are unpaid and designed to be mutually beneficial for both host and student• Field placement experiences may be in-person or virtual• The student is required to complete 140 hours (four weeks, full-time)• The host is requested to provide a designated workstation and a variety of duties relating to the student’s education, plus training, supervision, and mentorship• A performance evaluation will be provided to the supervisor for completion and returned to Bow Valley College at the conclusion of the field placement
